Within the fiction of Enchanted Wilds, Wisps are described as fantastical creatures “endemic and vital” to this ever-changing ecosystem, Riot Games told media during a roundtable on July 8.

They’re the unseen currents that shape a forest defined by the push and pull of day and night, life and death.

In gameplay terms, that fantasy translates into a simple but powerful rule: Wisps appear in your shop as temporary, single-use sources of power.

You buy them, you spend them, and they’re gone—but the trail of decisions they leave behind can define your entire run. A Wisp might be:

For all the economic and utility options Wisps can provide, Enchanted Wilds doesn’t let you forget that survival is still the ultimate currency.

After Stage 5, “every other Wisp is guaranteed to be a combat Wisp.”

You can’t simply hoard gold and ride interest if your opponents are buying pure battlefield power on a schedule you can predict. The mechanic itself starts nudging you away from comfort and into confrontation.

  • At three Blossom, all Wisps are upgraded.
  • At five, one appears in every shop.
  • Higher tiers refund gold when you buy Wisps, letting you chain purchases together, while the capstone unlocks two Wisps per round and eventually prismatic.

Instead of being occasional pickups, they become the core of your economy and strategy. Success with Blossom comes from treating them as a resource to optimize rather than a bonus to grab when convenient.
