The history of Pokemon Run in Singapore and around the world

Pokemon Run was first held in Singapore in January 2017, when The Promontory @ Marina Bay hosted Southeast Asia’s first official Pokemon-themed fun run.
Organised by Avex Asia and Infinitus Productions, the event transformed the waterfront venue into a Pokemon adventure featuring a 5km course and a post-race carnival known as Pallet Town.
Nearly 6,000 participants took part in the inaugural edition, making it one of the largest Pokemon fan events held in Singapore at the time.
The event returned for a second edition in January 2018, with organizers expanding the experience through themed elemental zones, inflatable obstacles, interactive activities and additional photo opportunities.
While Pokemon-themed events continued around the world in various forms, Singapore did not receive another major Pokemon Run after 2018. As a result, Pokemon Run Singapore 2026 marks the franchise’s first major local running event in eight years—and its first appearance during a milestone anniversary celebration.
