Popular Japanese voice actor Kenjiro Tsuda is returning to the world of pirates with his next major role in the One Piece anime series.

He becomes the voice of Figarland Shamrock, an antagonist in the upcoming Elbaph Arc who plays a key role in the storylines of both Monkey D. Luffy and Shanks.

Kenjiro Tsuda joins One Piece anime cast as Shamrock

Kenjiro Tsuda is officially setting sail in One Piece. The announcement dropped on the series’ official YouTube channel, featuring a short clip of Figarland Shamrock and a teaser of Kenjiro’s voice as the character.

The voice actor shared the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) and thanked fans for their support on his new role.

Fans might remember Kenjiro from One Piece Film Red, where he voiced Gordon, the former king of Elegia and Uta’s foster parent. This time, he’s stepping into the dark side for the anime.

Who is Shamrock in One Piece?

Figarland Shamrock is the evil twin brother of Shanks, Luffy’s idol and mentor.

Sharing his brother’s looks but not his morals, Shamrock commands the Knights of God and is the son of Figarland Garling, one of the Five Elders who lead the World Government.

As a Celestial Dragon and key figure in the Holy Knights, Shamrock is leading the charge to bring Elbaph under the World Government’s control.

Anime fans can catch Kenjiro’s debut in the One Piece anime series when the Elbaph arc premieres in April 2026.

Who is Kenjiro Tsuda?

Kenjiro Tsuda is one of Japan’s most recognizable voice actors, best known for roles like Seto Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, Kento Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen, Kai Chisaki (Overhaul) in My Hero Academia, and Tatsu in The Way of the Househusband.

In the realm of video games, he voices Dainsleif in Genshin Impact and Zed in League of Legends.

Beyond voice work, he has also appeared in live-action dramas and films like Trillion Game, No Domestic Work for Ms. Saionji, and The Way of the Househusband live action.
