Set against the backdrop of 10th-century China, Where Winds Meet continues to expand its immersive martial arts world, where players carve out their own legend across a seamless open landscape filled with solo, co-op, and PvP experiences.
Imperial Palace release date

Following the Hexi expansion, The Imperial Palace expansion releases on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
A living Imperial City filled with secrets
Covering more than one million square meters, the Kaifeng Imperial Palace is designed as a living ecosystem rather than a static backdrop.
Over 3,000 dynamic NPCs populate the palace grounds, creating an environment that constantly shifts depending on where players explore and who they encounter.
From towering ceremonial halls to shadowy hidden corners, the palace aims to capture both the grandeur and paranoia of imperial life.

Under the guise of an investigation, wanderers are drawn into the Office of Martial and Virtue, the empire’s elite intelligence agency. Acting as undercover operatives, players will take on daily assignments while slowly uncovering the secrets buried beneath the dynasty’s center of power.
The expansion is divided across three major areas within the palace:
- Front Court
- Inner Quarters
- Central Bureaus
Alongside its political narrative, the expansion adds cultural activities like Cricket Fighting, Ice Frolicking, exploration systems, and playful interactions such as prison jailbreak attempts, sneaking royal food, and even trying the Dragon Throne.
All new content in the Imperial Palace expansion

Combat content includes the Sealed Treasury campaign and the Confinement Tower dungeon (arriving in June), which explores a corrupted illusion inside the palace prison.
New world bosses include the Gilded Lament and Cat Emperor, while multiplayer encounters feature battles against Everdeer and Moongazing.
A Dragon Boat Festival event also arrives in June, adding seasonal activities, crafting, and Five Elements training rewards.
Imperial Palace roadmap expands with new systems and gameplay features

Beyond the Imperial Palace expansion, Everstone Studio outlined a broader roadmap that stretches across the coming months, introducing major systems and experimental gameplay modes.
New limited-time cosmetic
One of the earliest additions is a limited-time Panda cosmetic, launching on Monday, May 19, 2026, priced at 60 Echo Beads (approximately USD $0.99).

The cosmetic will remain available for 30 days, until Tuesday, June 17, 2026, and is designed with a wildlife conservation theme in mind.

Introducing two new game modes
June will also introduce two new modes:
- “Martial Path Domain,” a 5-player cooperative PvE challenge
- A high-risk ancient tomb exploration mode focused on survival, rivalry, and loot-driven encounters
Homesteads System and the arrival of Gauntlets
In the same month, players will gain access to the long-awaited Homesteads System, allowing them to return to Qinghe and build personal sanctuaries where farming, crafting, and a quieter martial arts lifestyle become central gameplay elements.
Looking further ahead into summer, the Imperial Palace roadmap also includes the arrival of Gauntlets, a new weapon class built around close-range, fist-based combat with its own martial arts progression path.
A new Companion System is also in development, introducing evolving furry companions whose personalities and dialogue will shift depending on player interaction and shared experiences.
Imperial Palace update reflects rapid live-service evolution

Alongside the Imperial Palace announcement, Everstone Studio highlighted the scale of its ongoing live-service improvements.
Over the past two months alone, the team has delivered more than 100 updates across core systems, including gear progression, PvP matchmaking, guild wars, onboarding improvements, controller support, and PlayStation optimization.
Future plans tied to the Imperial Palace ecosystem include expanded guild features with self-organized gameplay and GvE modes, ongoing weapon balance adjustments, and new server deployments in Australia, South America, and the Middle East to improve global connectivity.
Imperial Palace signals a long-term vision for Jianghu

Speaking on the roadmap, Eric, Head of Publishing for Where Winds Meet, emphasized the studio’s long-term commitment to its global community.
“We want to express our deepest gratitude to our global community for their unwavering and continued support,” he said.
“We are making a solemn commitment to ensure that every season delivers rich, solid, and high-quality content. Our priority is to maintain a seamless stream of updates so that the adventure never stalls. We will continue to listen to and act on your feedback to ensure the Jianghu remains a vibrant world that always rewards your time.”
With the arrival of the Imperial Palace expansion and a packed roadmap of systems, cosmetics, and gameplay innovations, Where Winds Meet is positioning itself for one of its most significant content phases yet.
