Voiced by Saori Hayami (, Shinobu Kocho stands out as the Insect Hashira—one of the Demon Slayer Corps’ highest-ranking swordsmen.

Unlike other fighters, her combat revolves around precision and poison rather than brute strength. Her deep knowledge of medicine translates into a unique mechanic that allows her to inflict status effects, setting up devastating follow-ups rather than relying on raw damage alone.

This design makes her especially effective in calculated engagements, rewarding players who can control tempo and capitalize on poison-triggered opportunities.

Recommended Shinobu combos to master

To help players get started, developers have outlined two core combos that define Shinobu’s gameplay loop.

The first is a straightforward sequence built around Skill 1, ideal for neutral situations. It strings into a four-hit ground combo, transitions into a chase dash, and finishes with aerial attacks before ending in an aerial skill.

Its primary goal is to inflict poison early, laying the groundwork for stronger follow-ups.

SHINOBU COMBO 1
Skill 1 (△) > Light Attack: 4-Hit Combo (Higher) (□ > □ > □ > ↑□) > Chase Dash (○)
Aerial Attack: 2-Hit Combo (□>□ while midair) >Aerial Skill 1 (△ while midair)

A simple combo using Skill 1, which is easy to use in neutral. Inflict poison to set the stage for later.

The second combo is where Shinobu truly shines. Triggered after poisoning an opponent, it chains Skill 1 into an instant Skill 3, followed by a chase dash and aerial continuation before closing with a grounded combo.

When executed correctly, this sequence deals significant burst damage, showcasing the payoff of her poison-based mechanics.

SHINOBU COMBO 2
Skill 1 (△) > Skill 3 Instant (R1△) > Chase Dash (○) > Aerial Attack: 2-Hit Combo (□>□
while midair) > Land > Light Attack: 4-Hit Combo (Lower) (□ > □ > □ > ↓□)

This is a combo that can only be linked when the opponent is poisoned. Landing Skill 3 will deal massive damage.
