Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a sequel manga created by Gege Akutami and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki. The original Jujutsu Kaisen manga concluded on September 30, 2024, marking the end of Yuji Itadori’s story and the beginning of a new chapter for the franchise.

The sequel was officially announced on September 1, 2025, in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 40 and began serialization in the following issue.

Set 68 years after the Culling Game arc, Modulo takes place in the year 2086, where the age of curses meets something entirely new. An alien race known as the Simurians arrives on Earth, forcing the remaining jujutsu sorcerers to confront a threat that defies both logic and tradition.

At the heart of this new era are Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, descendants of two legendary jujutsu families. Together, they carry the legacy of their powerful bloodlines as they face a world reshaped by the clash between jujutsu and extraterrestrial forces.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo chapter 1

The first chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo introduces readers to a new era of sorcery while keeping the heart of the story in Japan, where jujutsu remains deeply rooted even decades after the Culling Game.

The Simurians begin studying humanity from a distance, gauging the power of Earth’s remaining jujutsu sorcerers. Their goal is to understand whether anyone could threaten their existence.

One Simurian, Marulu Val Vol Yelvori, or Maru for short, arrives on Earth seeking refuge rather than conquest. His encounter with Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, the grandchildren of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin, becomes the foundation of the story. Together, they form an unexpected trio navigating a world where sorcery and alien power now coexist.
