If you’ve been exploring Honkai Star Rail’s Amphoreus storyline, you’ve likely asked, “What happened to Polyxia in HSR?”

In the game’s lore, Polyxia embodies the cost of divinity and the heavy burden of duty. As the sister of a Chrysos Heir, she plays an important role in the cycle that preceded the final Era Nova.

Warning: Major spoilers if you have yet to play the Honkai Star Rail Amphoreus Trailblaze Missions.

If you’re ready to know more, let’s take a closer look at what happened to Polyxia in HSR.

Who is Polyxia in Honkai Star Rail?

Polyxia is a non-playable character (NPC) introduced to Honkai Star Rail players during version 3.2 Trailblaze Mission, “Through the Petals in the Land of Repose.” She hails from the planet Amphoreus and is the twin sister of Castorice, the Chrysos Heir who acquires the Coreflame of Death.

Polyxia shares most of her twin’s features, but she keeps her eyes closed and lets her hair fall over the right side of her face.

In the previous cycle of Amphoreus, Polyxia became a Demigod, and eventually the Titan of Death.

The burden of becoming a Demigod takes a toll on her health, and by the time the Astral Express meet her, she is terminally ill and confined to a wheelchair.

What happened to Polyxia in HSR? The fate of Polyxia and Castorice

In version 3.2, in the Trailblaze Mission “Through the Petals in the Land of Repose,” we learn more of what happened to Polyxia in HSR.

Polyxia and Castorice are fated to take the Death Titan’s divinity. However, gaining this immense power requires the sacrifice of a loved one. Driven by love, Castorice chooses to sacrifice herself for her sister, which allowed Polyxia to ascend and become the Demigod of Death.

Polyxia later fully ascends to the Titan of Death and attempts to use her power to resurrect her sister. She successfully gathers Castorice’s soul back and gives it a new body, but the attempt goes terribly wrong. It results in the creation of a draconic entity named Pollux and causes a great disaster in her homeland, Styxia.

The effort of the resurrection also consumes her mortal presence, causing Polyxia to fade away from the physical world of Amphoreus.

After Pollux is defeated and Castorice is safely returned to the mortal realm, Polyxia is able to finally pass the divinity of Death onto Castorice. She dies to complete the trial, similar to the previous cycle.

In the events of version 3.7’s Trailblaze Mission “Fallen Petals, Leave Fading Traces of Fragrance,” Polyxia is successfully revived inside the game system “As I’ve Written.” She returns to her original and healthy form, and Polyxia and Castorice are happily reunited.
