The deserts of Wraeclast are shifting, and an ancient evil has emerged. In Path of Exile Mirage, a group of necromancers known as the Afarud have lingered in the shadows for centuries, and are now capturing the souls of Djinn to sap their energies.
Path of Exile 3.28 will give players the opportunity to master a new arsenal of Holy skills, construct their own Mirage encounters, and experience a completely overhauled endgame Atlas.

With the help of the ancient Maraketh sorceress Varashta, players can enter the Astral Realm to break the tethers trapping the Djinn and rewrite the fate of Wraeclast.
Path of Exile Mirage release date and platforms
Path of Exile Mirage launches on March 6, 2026 on PC, Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
Path of Exile new Ascendancy class: The Reliquarian
The Scion receives a brand new Ascendancy class called the Reliquarian.
As a learned scholar from the Oriath Academy, she is part of a secret society dedicated to collecting Unique Items. All of her passive powers are derived directly from these legendary artifacts.

Path of Exile new League: Mirage
Afarud Warlocks hold the Djinn in thrall within the Astral Realm. Players must enter a “Mirage”, an imperfect copy of the area around the captured Djinn.
Before entering, Varashta allows you to choose one of three Wishes that modify the Mirage area:

These Mirages physically copy the contents of the area they are spawned in, allowing players to effectively play a portion of their Map a second time. This includes all scarab, atlas, and map modifiers, as well as mechanics like Strongboxes, Blights, and Legions.
However, these recreated mechanics are often warped and empowered. For example, Blight Encounters in Mirages feature an Afarud enemy lane that can drop the new Cord belt, which has an implicit that can be anointed to grant a Passive Tree notable.
Path of Exile new skills and supports
To face these new evils, players gain access to an arsenal of new Holy themed skills and supports.

Path of Exile endgame and balance overhaul
The Atlas of Worlds has received an extensive streamlining overhaul. Map items have been divorced from specific areas.
Instead of finding a “Mesa map,” players will now find a generic “Tier 10 Map,” which can be used to run Mesa by simply selecting it on the Atlas Device.
Zana’s recent actions have strained the Atlas, and Eagon is now using mysterious Arcane Astrolabes to track her. Using these Astrolabes manifests a “Shaped Region” on your Atlas.
- Shaped Regions: Completing the content added by an Astrolabe removes the influence from a map, but causes every other map remaining in the region to gain an additional modifier.
- Memory Vaults: Clearing a Shaped Region takes players to one of four Memory Vaults, such as the Arkhon’s Vault for Unique Items or the Zealot’s Vault for Currency.
- Exceptional Supports: Awakened Support gems are being phased out. They are replaced by over 40 transformative “Exceptional Support Gems” that drop from Atlas Bosses once the new Originator Voidstone is obtained. Examples include Hextoad Support and Voidstorm Support.
- Keepers to Core: The Keepers of the Flame league mechanics have gone core. Hive Encounters have been adjusted so walls are now destroyed by any damage, reducing visual clutter and preventing blocked projectiles.
Quality of life improvements in Path of Exile Mirage update
- You can now favorite trades on the currency exchange, allowing you to trade between two selected currencies with a single click.
- You can open and interact with your stash while the currency exchange window is open.
- Full sets of Divination Cards are now automatically handed in, and rewards are transferred directly to your inventory for seamless turn-ins.
- Labyrinth font crafts allow you to choose which transfigured gem of a specific type you would like to receive.
- Shrines now appropriately take priority over monsters when clicking an overlapping area.
