Few names carry as much weight as League of Legends Faker. Since stepping onto the Rift as a 17-year-old rookie in 2013, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has amassed a collection of accolades that remain unmatched in the history of esports.
Nicknamed “The Unkillable Demon King” after his legendary run at Worlds 2013, Faker has spent over a decade rewriting what’s possible in the mid lane.

In this article, we’re breaking down all Faker accolades and his complete list of achievements, year by year, from his 2013 debut with SK Telecom T1 all the way to the latest esports season.
Who is League of Legends Faker?

Lee Sang-hyeok, known worldwide by his gamertag Faker, is a South Korean professional League of Legends player and a mid-laner. Born on May 7, 1996, in Seoul, he discovered League of Legends in 2011 and quickly built a reputation as a dominant solo queue player under the name “GoJeonPa.”

In February 2013, at just 17 years old, he was signed by SK Telecom to anchor a newly formed roster. Within months, SKT T1 swept through the Korean domestic scene, and Faker went on to win the World Championship in his very first year as a pro — a feat practically unheard of for a rookie.

It was during that run that a caster nicknamed him “The Unkillable Demon King,” a title that has stuck for over a decade. The years that followed turned SKT T1 into the most dominant force League of Legends esports had ever seen.
Between 2015 and 2017, Faker won back-to-back World Championships (2015, 2016), becoming the first player to claim multiple Worlds titles, and added two MSI trophies (2016, 2017) along the way.
His three consecutive Worlds finals appearances during this stretch remain one of the most dominant runs by any player or team in the game’s history.

The years between 2018 and 2022 were quieter by Faker’s own standards, but far from empty. He kept adding LCK titles to his resume (2019, 2020, 2022), represented South Korea at the 2018 Asian Games, and became a part-owner of T1 in 2020.
Faker later led T1 to a World Championship in 2023, then did it again in 2024, and again in 2025, completing the first three-peat in Worlds history. He also secured a gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games (held in 2023) and individual honors recognizing him as the sport’s most accomplished competitor.
Faker remains the only six-time World Champion in League of Legends history as of writing, still competing for the only team he’s ever played for. More than a decade after his rookie debut, his name is still the standard every mid laner in the world is measured against.
