To celebrate the official launch of Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids that releases on December 12, 2025 (PST) the game will be made free to play for three days across all available platforms from December 12 to 15.
The Free Weekend allows anyone who does not yet own an Early Access key to jump into Path of Exile 2. Participants will have full access with no level restrictions, and all progress made during the campaign will be saved and carried over.

If you wish to continue your journey, you have a few options. Once the Free Weekend concludes, you can choose to continue your adventure immediately by purchasing an Early Access key, or wait for the full free-to-play release of the game.

Path of Exile 2 officially commenced Early Access on December 6, 2024, debuting simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Initially conceived as a massive expansion to the beloved original Path of Exile, the project evolved into a comprehensive, standalone sequel.
The Early Access launch offered players access to the first two-thirds of the game’s core story, encompassing four complete acts, alongside a foundational version of the endgame content.
Since then, developer Grinding Gear Games has maintained a brisk development schedule, typically releasing significant content patches every four months. The upcoming release, officially titled “The Last of the Druids” (Version 0.4.0) is the game’s third major update deployed since the game became publicly available.
The Last of the Druids follows the previous large-scale patch, “The Third Edict” (Version 0.3.0), which landed on August 29, 2025. This consistent release of substantial updates highlights the studio’s commitment to refining and expanding the core game experience in direct response to community feedback throughout the Early Access period, ensuring a polished final product.
