2025 League of Legends World Championship winner Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon has extended his contract with T1, the organization announced today.

The top laner made headlines when he signed with the legacy team early in 2025, replacing two-time Worlds winner Choi “Zeus” Woo-je in the top lane.

Doran first made his name in the LCK with the high-flying Griffin roster in 2019 alongside jungler Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong, mid laner Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon, bot laner Park “Viper” Do-hyeon, and support Son “Lehends” Si-woo.

T1 puts faith in Doran for another year

Doran’s contract is shorter than mid laner and Hall of Famer Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok’s multiyear deal that ends in 2029. Support staple Ryu “Keria” Min-seok and jungler Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun’s two-year contract that started in 2024 ends at the same time as their confirmed top laner.

After Griffin, Doran competed with many top LCK teams including DRX, KT Rolster, Gen.G, and Hanwha Life Esports over the years. He had qualified and competed at Worlds three times before finally clinching his first-ever championship with T1 in 2025, fighting their way from Play-Ins, to the Swiss stage, to the Knockout stage when they defeated final boss KT Roslter 3-2 to clinch T1’s sixth title.

There was a lol of pressure and community feedback when he first signed with T1 because he had big shoes to fill because the legendary ZOFGK roster that won back-to-back championships in 2023 and 2024 did not all re-sign.

T1 first announced today that bot laner and three-peat Worlds winner Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong is leaving the organization where he had established his entire career, image, and brand.
