Worlds 2025 Play-In and Swiss Stages

The Play-In Stage launches on October 14 in Beijing at the cutting-edge Beijing Smart Esports Center. This venue, purpose-built for premier esports events, will host a World Championship for the very first time, promising an electric atmosphere right from the start.
New this year, the Play-In Stage will feature a decisive one-day Best-of-Five match between the fourth seeds of the two best-performing regions from MSI, where one team will punch their ticket to the Swiss Stage.
Following this, the Swiss Stage takes center stage from October 15 to October 25. Sixteen teams from around the globe will navigate this dynamic format where every victory propels them toward knockout contention, while every defeat edges them closer to elimination.
Worlds 2025 Knockout Stage
From October 28 to November 2, the remaining eight teams move to the iconic Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai for the Knockout Stage. Recognized as one of Shanghai’s first certified “A-level Esports Venues,” the arena is a premier stage for competitive gaming and a renowned cultural landmark in Asia.
In a historic first for Worlds, the Quarterfinals will roll straight into the Semifinals with no break in play. This transforms the Knockout Stage into nonstop cinema, where only the strongest can survive the gauntlet.
The single-elimination, Best-of-Five matches raise the stakes exponentially as teams fight for a shot at the Finals.
2025 World Finals in Chengdu
The climax of the season—the 2025 World Finals—will unfold on November 9 at the magnificent Dong’an Lake Sports Park Multifunctional Gymnasium in Chengdu.
As one of Western China’s most modern and architecturally striking stadiums, it provides a fitting backdrop for the final showdown. The stage is set for an unforgettable conclusion to Worlds 2025 as the two final teams clash for the ultimate honor of raising the Summoner’s Cup.
