The World Esports Championship (WEC25), held in Kuala Lumpur from December 3 to 7, 2025 marked a historic milestone for Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) as it was the event’s most globally diverse competition to date.
The tournament affirmed MLBB’s standing as a major global esports title, underscoring the ongoing partnership between the International Esports Federation (IESF) and Moonton Games.
WEC25 MLBB Open Tournament: Malaysia claims historic second title
The MLBB Open Tournament delivered a high-level showcase of global talent, culminating in a commanding performance by Malaysia. The host nation secured a dominant 3–0 victory over Cambodia in the Grand Final, cementing its status as back-to-back WEC champions.

This year’s competition also featured a historic moment for the European region, as Türkiye secured the Bronze medal. This achievement marks the first time a European nation has won a medal in MLBB at the World Esports Championship, underscoring the title’s expanding global reach.
The Grand Final was opened by several distinguished guests, including YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, and Mr. Vlad Marinescu, President of the IESF, reflecting the competition’s significant national and international standing.

WEC25 MLBB Women’s Tournament: Indonesia remains undefeated
In the MLBB Women’s Tournament, Indonesia reaffirmed its dominance, clinching the championship for the second consecutive year. The team remained undefeated throughout the event, showcasing superior skill and teamwork.

The Grand Final pitted Indonesia against Cambodia, a resilient opponent that had battled its way through the lower bracket. Despite Cambodia’s strong campaign, Indonesia maintained its winning streak to secure its reputation as the powerhouse of women’s MLBB esports.
