Executive producers Jabbar Raisani and Christine Boylan describe Miya as “a brilliant performer who knows how to precisely balance the sarcastic sense of humor, stubbornness, and vulnerability that is Toph Beifong.”

In Avatar The Last Airbender, Toph Beifong is known as one of the most powerful Earthbenders of her time. Blind since birth, Toph utilized her disability to develop a unique skill called “seismic sense,” which allows her to “see” the world around her by detecting vibrations through the ground with her bare feet.

Despite being the sheltered daughter of a wealthy family, she secretly became a notorious underground fighting champion, known as “The Blind Bandit,” before joining Avatar Aang’s journey as his Earthbending teacher.

Set in an Asiatic-inspired world where specific individuals called “benders” can manipulate the elements of Water, Earth, Fire, or Air, the series centers on Aang, the twelve-year-old Avatar and the last Airbender, who is the only person capable of mastering all four elements to restore balance to a world threatened by the Fire Nation.
