Ubisoft has confirmed that Rainbow Six Mobile, the free-to-play tactical first-person shooter, will launch globally on February 23, 2026, for both iOS and Android platforms.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Rainbow Six Mobile translates the core Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six experience into the mobile sphere, combining deep tactical elements with rapid first-person shooter action.

The Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six franchise began in 1998 as a pioneer of the tactical shooter genre on PC, departing from the fast-paced run-and-gun style of contemporary games. Based on Tom Clancy’s novel of the same name, the series centers on “Rainbow,” a secret international counter-terrorist unit composed of elite operators from around the world.

Over the decades, the series evolved from these methodical, squad-based roots into the high-stakes, competitive multiplayer environment seen in Rainbow Six Siege, which emphasizes environmental destruction, gadget-based strategy, and team coordination.

The central Rainbow 6 experience revolves around 5v5 Player-vs-Player (PvP) matches, focusing on the dynamic Attack vs. Defense format.

Attackers utilize observation drones for intelligence and strategically breach destructible environments, including walls, floors, and ceilings. Defenders, conversely, fortify positions using barricades and deploy spy cameras or traps to secure their objectives.

This emphasis on coordinated strategy and teamwork delivers the intensity of close-quarters combat as teams constantly switch between attacking and defending roles to achieve victory.

Rainbow Six Mobile was built specifically for mobile devices, incorporating existing elements from Rainbow Six Siege while introducing unique mobile-exclusive features:

  • Game Modes: The game offers Bomb, Bomb Rush, and Team Deathmatch modes.
  • Operator Roster: Players will have access to over 20 operators at launch, featuring recognizable names like Ash, Mute, and Dokkaebi.
  • Map Selection: The map pool includes iconic locations such as Bank, Border, Clubhouse, Oregon, and Villa, alongside mobile-exclusive maps like Restaurant and Summit.
  • Player Experience: A dedicated onboarding tutorial is included to teach fundamental Rainbow Six mechanics. Players can engage in Private matches, Ranked matches, and Quick Play.
  • Seasonal Content: New content will be introduced regularly with each seasonal update.

The game is currently available for regional playtesting in select territories, including Poland, France, Canada, and various countries across Latin America.

If you want to get a head start and play Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege on PC, you can download it through major digital storefronts including Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Ubisoft Store, all of which require the Ubisoft Connect launcher to run.

It has a “Free Access” model known as Rainbow Six Siege X, allowing players to enjoy core modes like Quick Match, Unranked, and the new Dual Front mode at no cost. For those seeking the full competitive experience, premium editions like the Elite or Ultimate versions are available for purchase to unlock Ranked matches, the Siege Cup, and a wider roster of Operators.
