League of Legends Lead Gameplay Designer Matt “Riot Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison posted a preview of LoL patch 25.24 on X.
For this patch, the focus is on tuning the newest top lane champion, Zaahen, who was released in the previous update.
Zaahen’s initial dominance has been tempered by the recent micropatch, settling him into a seemingly stable spot for the general player base. However, a deeper dive into high-level play reveals a different story: his early mastery growth is currently projecting overwhelming power in the hands of seasoned veterans, revealed Riot Phroxzon.

While Zaahen is not an outright ‘must-ban’ menace, his current state is clearly above the curve, wrote Riot Phroxzon. As such, developers do plan to nerf him this patch but do not have the specifics yet. They will continuing analysing the data before committing to any changes.
As for Mel, the quality-of-life changes this patch are aimed squarely at player frustration. The most notable fix addresses the mismatch between her E zone’s particle effect and its actual lingering hitbox, resolving what developers felt was an unnecessary annoyance.

Furthermore, the power and efficiency of maxing E has been reduced through a lower max rank power ceiling and a higher mana cost, making the ability less spammable and encouraging more thoughtful skill progression.
