The episode begins with a flashback to Mizuki’s time in Japan with her grandmother. It was here, watching a local television broadcast, that she first saw Sano’s high jump and was inspired to pursue the sport.
Back in the present, the tension rises as the school doctor, Umeda, confronts Mizuki about her true identity. Though she initially avoids the subject, the following school day brings another challenge when a student photographer, Nihonbashi, catches Sano and Mizuki in an intimate moment. This forces the roommates to confront him.
The episode also reveals a softer side of Sano as he shares the story of how he adopted his dog, Yujiro. Shortly after, Mizuki meets Sano’s childhood friend, Rika, who asks for her help in convincing Sano to return to the high jump.
Fearing she will be sent away, Mizuki finally confesses her secret and her motives to Doctor Umeda. She explains that Sano inspired her to start track and that she dreams of jumping with him one day. After her confession, Umeda reveals that he is gay.
