Updated on December 9, 2025 at 10:10 pm: Added rewards for Duolingo users.

Step aside, Ella Musk — there’s a new language professor in Teyvat, and he is Duo from Duolingo. This time, Genshin Impact Travelers are challenged to learn languages from around the world, not just Hilichurlian.

HoYoverse has teamed up with the language learning app for a limited-time event that shifts players’ focus from Teyvat’s daily commissions to real-world learning.

If the streak is broken before the three-day goal is reached, the player is unable to restart the quest. While Duolingo offers Streak Repair and Streak Freeze items, these do not count toward the required progression.

A Streak Repair does not restart participation after a broken streak, and a Streak Freeze does not add to the three required days. Only active lesson completion advances the quest progress.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play, open-world action role-playing game (ARPG) developed by HoYoverse. It launched globally on September 28, 2020, and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and mobile platforms (iOS and Android). The core of Genshin Impact is its vast, explorable fantasy world, Teyvat. Players take on the role of the Traveler, seeking their lost twin, and build a party of up to four interchangeable characters.

Duolingo is a popular language-learning application released in November 2012. The app teaches over 40 languages through a heavily gamified system, using bite-sized lessons that award experience points (XP) and track a daily study streak. It provides access to major global tongues like Spanish, French, and Japanese, as well as constructed languages like High Valyrian.
