The six teams advancing to the MPL Malaysia Season 16 Playoffs have been confirmed following the conclusion of the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 16 Regular Season.
Selangor Red Giants OG Esports and CG Esports secured the top spots, earning critical berths directly into the Upper Bracket. They are joined in the playoffs by Team Vamos (VMS), Homebois (HB), Monster Vicious (MV), and AERO Esports (AERO).
MPL Malaysia Season 16 Playoffs marks the end of an era
This playoff stage is particularly significant, as it marks the final chapter for the league in its current form. Next year, MPL Malaysia will transition to an “enhanced franchise format” starting in 2026. This move is designed to introduce long-term stability, improve team operations, and deepen community engagement.

Since its launch in 2018, the league has been a foundation of Southeast Asia’s esports ecosystem, fostering local talent and creating MLBB icons. The Season 16 Playoffs serve as both a farewell to this historic era and a prelude to the coming transformation.
In addition to top-tier competition, the event will include the MPL Malaysia Season 16 Awards, celebrating the league’s evolution. This year will introduce a new honor: the 2025 Media – Best Content Award which will recognize the top three pieces of media storytelling from the season.
