Marvel Rivals Black Cat makes her entrance, and she’s exactly the kind of hero the game’s roster has been missing. She’s self-sufficient and chaotic enough to flip a match in ways most players won’t see coming.
If you’ve been waiting for a hero that rewards creativity and individual skill, she might be what you’ve been looking for.

Beyond the new hero, the Marvel Rivals 7.5 patch notes cover a brand-new PvE mode with its own progression systems, a returning fan-favourite event, and the opening chapter of what looks like a major story arc.
Marvel Rivals Black Cat release date: When does Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 release?

Season 7.5 of Marvel Rivals launches on Friday, April 17, 2026, introducing Black Cat as the newest addition to the roster.
She joins alongside a range of new content, making this one of the bigger mid-season updates in the game.
Marvel Rivals Black Cat kit explained
Marvel Rivals Black Cat fills the Duelist role, but she plays unlike any other damage dealer on the roster.
Her entire kit is built around movement and a unique resource called Fortune, which she steals directly from enemies using her grappling hook.
That stolen Fortune then powers up her claw strikes and opens access to a system — a loot vault called the Gilded Saint.

From that vault, Marvel Rivals’ Black Cat:
- Can pull rare artifacts mid-match, including the Ring of Zona, the Helm of Hades, and Namor’s Mento-Fish
- Some of these artifacts create tactical advantages for the whole team, meaning a skilled Black Cat player is quietly shaping the match even when she’s not the one dealing damage.
Her Ultimate takes everything up a notch. She sends a calling card to every enemy on the field before dashing to any target of her choosing for a burst of lethal damage.
Combined with her wall-climbing and double-jump, she has one of the highest mobility ceilings in the game, and the kind of escape tools that make her extremely difficult to pin down once she’s in rhythm.
Marvel Rivals 7.5 patch notes summary: New Team-Up, new PvE mode, and major event

New Team-Up is called Lucky Loan
Marvel Rivals Black Cat also anchors a new Team-Up Ability alongside White Fox and Captain America called Lucky Loan.
She shares her luck with both heroes, unlocking enhanced versions of their existing abilities:
- White Fox gains a channeled power that fires homing spectral tails in all directions, healing allies and slowing enemies at the same time.
- Captain America’s shield gets a precision overhaul, where its protective radius expands, and deflected projectiles now bounce exactly where he’s aiming rather than scattering unpredictably.
New PvE Mode “Blood Hunt”
Arriving shortly after the season launch is Blood Hunt, a new PvE mode with its own original storyline, four boss encounters, and systems built specifically for this mode, including a separate hero progression track, a trait system, and a dedicated loot structure.
The Hellfire Gala also makes its return, bringing new themed costumes for Magik, Gambit, Moon Knight, Emma Frost, and Phoenix.

The Emma Frost Gala Star costume — the winner of the 2025 community vote — is being handed out free to all players. A new community vote opens at the same time, with the winning hero set to receive a free earnable costume in the following year’s Gala.
Rounding out the update is Phase 1 of the Path to Doomsday, a new asymmetrical combat event where players can experience both sides of a battle involving Loki. It marks the beginning of what appears to be a longer narrative arc running through the season.
One of the quieter but most appreciated changes in the Marvel Rivals 7.5 patch notes is a fix for PC players who’ve been managing limited storage.
The High-Resolution Texture Pack has been separated into its own standalone DLC, meaning players can now uninstall it independently and recover around 35GB of disk space without affecting the rest of the game. It still downloads by default for new installs, but the option to remove it is now there.
